The Death of Nelson, an English Nationalist folksong, is sung by a one-legged sailor on Eccles Street in Ulysses, while The Croppy Boy comes to Tom Kernan as he encounters the place where Robert Emmet was executed. The third is offered as a potential replacement for these two contradictory tunes.

We are proud to announce a three-year partnership with basis.point and Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) to support BITCI’s 'Time to Grow’ programme. This is an #education and #workplace initiative for young people that will provide valuable work experience and work placements for Leaving Cert students in #dublin. 
  
Each year, the programme will provide 100 work experience places for two students from each of the 50 DEIS schools in Dublin and 20 paid work placements for Leaving Cert students from the North-East Inner City.  
  
We believe in the power of #education and the impact it has on our future. In supporting this programme, we have the opportunity to bring occupiers and the wider community together to help bridge the gap between education and employment and provide students with the tools and experiences they need to succeed in their careers.

As a fifteen-year-old asset, the majority of this building’s plant and equipment was reaching the end of its economic life and its comfort and environmental performance was below the standard of newer assets. In early 2022, we commenced a substantial upgrade which included the following:
 
- replaced gas boilers and chillers with heat pumps in order to degasify the entire building’s heating and cooling systems
- installed PV solar panels to help generate onsite energy
- upgraded the BMS to better control the smart systems
- we also carried out an extensive upgrade to onsite occupier amenities and signage 
 
Following this significant upgrade, we are targeting LEED Operations and Maintenance Gold certification.

Styne House, Upper Hatch Street, Dublin 2, has been one of our major office properties for over a decade. As part of our ongoing regeneration programme, we have commenced a substantial upgrade of this building. We have a clear ambition to achieve #netzerocarbon by 2030. As part of our pathway to net zero, we are proud to launch our first Irish woodland project. We are funding the planting of 106,000 native species of trees in Co. Cork which will sequester over 6,000 tons of CO2 over 40 years.

'Spectator' is an exhibition of new paintings by Sarah that examine the role of narrative within abstraction, showing at the @rhagallery Ashford Gallery until this Sunday at 5pm.
 
The work is based on the artist’s everyday observations as a ‘Spectator’. The transient nature of narrative as unplanned mark-making becomes mingled with premeditated and planned compositions. And the role of the viewer as they in turn become the Spectator upon witnessing the exhibition.

‘Where Glass Meets Water’, is an artwork created by @algorithm.ie that explores the story of Dublin, a city shaped by the River Liffey. The artwork is made up of four distinct sections, each one exploring a different strand of the Tropical Fruit Warehouse’s story and set to the enduring rhythm of the city.

The Tropical Fruit Warehouse is due for completion in April 2022.

Living Canvas at @wilton_park_dublin is part of our commitment to creating a layered city, in which spaces for arts and culture are valued alongside places to live and work.

As the pandemic influences how we spend our leisure and social time and draws attention to the need to reignite pride in the city, the arrival of Living Canvas is a timely intervention, offering new ways to enjoy arts and culture in a safe setting.

The screen runs daily from 8am to 10pm and works from artists @clare.langan and Bassam Al Sabah (@this.isnowhere) premiered this week. We also have a pipeline of other renowned artists such as @barbaraknezevic_ @ailbhenibhriain John Beattie, @aideenbarry and Alan Butler due to showcase their work in the lead up to Christmas. There is a QR code on the frame which allows the user to listen to the works and offers a more immersive experience.

We would like to thank our partners @rhagallery, the @dublincitycouncil Arts Office and @moli_museum for their input. The physical and technical structure of the screen at Wilton Park was designed and produced by @algorithm.ie
