  • Additional 12 units will be delivered to the highest sustainability standards including BER A2 and LEED Gold
  • Nexus Logistics Park will be one of Europe’s greenest logistics parks comprising 17 units extending to a total of 2.5 million sq ft

IPUT Real Estate (‘IPUT’), Ireland’s leading commercial property investment company and the largest owner of offices and logistics assets in Dublin, announces that it has received planning permission to deliver an additional 12 units, extending to 1.7 million sq ft at Nexus Logistics Park (‘Nexus’). Planning for the initial 800,000 sq ft (5 units) was granted in 2023.

Nexus Logistics Park is located at the Cherryhound Interchange of the M2 motorway, adjacent to Dublin’s M50 and close to Dublin airport. IPUT now has permission to build a total of 2.5 million sq ft across 17 buildings which will be delivered to the highest sustainability standard including BER A2 and LEED Gold ratings. A range of unit sizes can be delivered from 50,000 sq ft to 475,000 sq ft. Each unit can be delivered with a glue-laminated timber frame which offers 27% less embodied carbon than steel and includes the potential for achieving Net Zero Carbon construction. Other sustainable design features include roof mounted solar panels, high-efficiency LED lighting systems, rainwater harvesting systems and advanced building envelope to improve thermal performance.

The scale of Nexus Logistics Park will also allow IPUT to invest significantly in the public realm and amenities for occupiers and the local community. This will include sport facilities, running tracks, cycle paths, outdoor gym facilities, art and cultural installations and an environment that nurtures both people and biodiversity.

The development of Nexus follows the recent successful completion of the 550,000 sq ft Quantum Logistics Park where its four units are let to leading global occupiers Maersk, DHL, and Harvey Norman.

IPUT’s current logistics portfolio comprises 3.2 million sq ft, across 32 buildings; and will increase to close to 6 million sq ft upon completion of Nexus.

Michael Clarke, Chief Investment Officer, IPUT Real Estate, commented:

Our ambition is to continue to set new standards in real estate in Ireland. We will achieve that at Nexus which will be among the greenest logistics parks in Europe.

Following the successful delivery of Quantum Logistics Park, which includes Ireland’s first net zero logistics building, our investment in Nexus supports a net zero economy while providing amenities that serve both our occupiers and the local community.

IPUT has appointed Garrett McClean, CBRE (01-6185500) and Philip Harvey, HARVEY (01-4532755) as joint letting agents.
